IT’S REFERENDUM TIME!
An Independent Planning Examiner has recommended that the plan now goes forward for adoption. The District Planning Authority fully supports this recommendation, the plan and its policies.
Higham Ferrers Neighbourhood Plan - Referendum Version
To remind you, our 20-year plan contains policies to:
Specify where new development should be located in our town
Identify which community facilities are needed
Promote high quality design in new developments and protect the heritage of our town
Protect our green and open spaces and facilitate access to them
Improve pedestrian, cycling, public transport and parking facilities
Support local businesses and jobs and strengthen the vitality and viability of our town centre
Secure increased funding for local projects from developer contributions
Adoption relies upon a majority “Yes” vote in a local referendum on the simple question:
“Do you want East Northants Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Higham Ferrers to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
We urge all registered voters in Higham Ferrers to turn out and vote in the referendum on 18 February.
The Plan and associated documents can be found on the website www.highamferrersneighbourhoodplan.org.uk, at the Town Hall and the Library. Voting arrangements will be published in the local press and on the website nearer the date of the referendum.
